On behalf of the Board, administrators, teachers and staff of the Calgary Science School I am very pleased to introduce to you the Education Plan for 2009/2010 to 2011/2012.

During the 2009 to 2012 period, the Calgary Science School will enter into the first year of its third successive charter. Calgary Science School stakeholders including parents, teachers and the CSS Board submitted and received approval for our third charter renewal agreement with Alberta Education in the early part of 2009. This document maps out some new focuses for the school that will complement the foundational philosophies we have employed for the last ten years. We will be expanding upon our focus on inquiry based learning and curriculum planning. The school will also target authentic learning opportunities wherever they can be integrated with curricula.

The CSS is grateful to the Government of Alberta for its continued support of Charter Schools. Alberta is a world leader in primary education because of the choice available in our public education system. The Calgary Science School is proud to be part of that choice and will continue to share our innovation beyond the walls of the school.
